Wow, what a week! I am here
in Alverca which is near Lisbon next to the Tagus river which is very large and
empties into the Atlantic. It is so
pretty and I love it here so much! The people are mostly Brazilians and Africans!
There are lots of mountains/hills so my legs die at the end of every day!
As I said, this area
is mostly Brazilians...they are so amazing and open and fun! The ward is like 95% Brazilians, it’s so
awesome! I am learning their accent and some slang. I’ve never seen a ward as
loving as this one. When I first got there I told my companion that we needed
to do the shopping for the week but he handed me a sign up paper and said,
”Elder, we don’t really need to do shopping because we have dinner or lunch
with a different member every day!” I
couldn’t believe it, it’s so amazing! There is this one family that I love here
and can talk to them forever. The ward seems to like us, so that makes
everything easier!
As far as investigators
go we don’t have any that are really progressing. We are still looking for some.
We have a lot of inactive members that we spend a lot of time with and they
have lead us to a couple of new investigators. Lots of the less active members
have family members who aren’t members so we are teaching some of them.
My new comp is interesting.
This is his last transfer and he is a good guy about to go home. I love my district! We
had our first district meeting and it went really well! We learned some new
stuff and felt the spirit. I love being able to call the missionaries in my
area to see how their day went and have them tell me about some sort of miracle
that happened that day. It’s great to see how the Lord works. Right now I am
just loving my mission so much! I am seeing people around me change and how God
loves them!
For p-day a group of
missionaries went bowling in Lisbon. I love
all of you guys! BOA SEMANA!!!!
